The Obama Administration has finalized standards to increase fuel economy to the equivalent of 54.5mpg for cars and light-duty trucks by 2025, doubling the fuel efficiency of new vehicles. Issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, this new initiative will encourage innovation and investment in advanced technologies and the need for economic competitiveness to support high-quality domestic jobs in the auto industry.
